On June 15, 2020 a video conference between the experts of the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was held. The parties discussed the prospects for the implementation and operation of WIPO-Connect platform in NCIP. The use of this IT-platform opens up new opportunities for the collective management organization (CMO), the functions of which in Belarus are currently authorized by NCIP.

The video conference was attended by WIPO representatives – Ms. Anita Huss-Ekerhult, Counsellor of the Copyright Management Division of the Copyright and Creative Industries Sector, and Ms. Lili Chen, Senior Counsellor of the Copyright Division, as well as NCIP representatives – Mr. Alexander Denisman, Head of the Copyright and Related Rights Department, Ms. Ekaterina Yantikova, Deputy Head of the Legal and Human Resources Department, and Mr. Arthur Akhramenka, Head of the International Cooperation Division.

The parties agreed on a roadmap for the implementation of this project in Belarus.
