The World Intellectual Property Organization Summer School (WIPO Summer School) will be held in Minsk from June 1 to 12, 2026.

Organizers: World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP).

The WIPO Summer School offers a deep dive into the world of intellectual property for students and young professionals. The program is based on an interdisciplinary approach: interactive lectures, simulations, detailed case studies, group discussions on specific intellectual property topics, discussion forums, and more replace theory.

Participants will explore how intellectual property influences contemporary global challenges. The following topics will be covered:

  • Technology and Innovation: International and Regional Patent Systems, Intellectual Property on the Internet;
  • Creativity and Law: Copyright Licensing, Developing Creative Industries with Intellectual Property;
  • Business and Strategy: Intellectual Property Management and Valuation, Intellectual Property Rights Protection;
  • Global Agenda: The Link between Intellectual Property, Public Health, Climate Change, etc.

Students and young professionals will become familiar with WIPO's global services and the mechanisms for administering intellectual property rights at the international level.

To apply for the WIPO Summer School, please register on the WIPO Academy website (see the "WIPO Summer School in the Republic of Belarus" section), attaching a motivation letter of up to 300 words, current biographical information, and passport details. After WIPO reviews and approves your application, you will receive an agreement from NCIP via email, which will serve as the basis for payment of tuition fees.

In addition, all registered participants receive complimentary access to the WIPO Academy's online course DL101 - General Course on Intellectual Property, which serves as a complementary foundational tool to the core curriculum of the WIPO Summer School.

Upon completion of the WIPO Summer School, participants will receive an internationally recognized digital certificate confirming their high level of professional development.
