On September 3, 2024, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched a pilot project on В«Intellectual Property Management Clinics for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Led by WomenВ» in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The project aims to inform and support these enterprises.

Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, made a welcoming speech during the opening of the event, in which he mentioned that in this pilot project Belarus is represented by successful CEOs of large companies from various industries, including information technology, marketing, branding and food industry.

The role of women in Belarusian society is confirmed by the high positions of Belarus in thematic international rankings. Thus, according to the World Economic Forum, Belarus ranks 36th among 146 countries in the Gender Gap Index, and 4th in the Economic Participation and Opportunity Index. In the Global Innovation Index, Belarus ranks 30th in the indicator В«Employed women with higher educationВ».

В«I am convinced that the format of project implementation proposed by WIPO will not only allow to expand opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises at the national level, but also to establish contacts with foreign colleagues. The National Center of Intellectual Property, in its turn, is ready to provide all possible assistance in promoting such initiatives in order to strengthen cooperation in the regionВ», - underlined U. Rabavolau.
