World Information Day

Every year on November 26, the world celebrates World Information Day, which emphasizes the importance of free access to information as a fundamental human right.

Today we cannot imagine our life without receiving new information every day. Scientific and technological progress has increased the importance of information necessary for people to live a full life in modern society. Therefore, the key task of World Information Day is to draw attention to the problems of improving the quality of access to information resources and technologies for a wide range of information consumers.

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) actively continues to improve mechanisms for access to information in the field of intellectual property (IP). As part of its activities, the NCIP provides:

• topical information on changes in the national IP legislation;
• information on industrial property rights registered in state registers of the Republic of Belarus (databases, IP Exchange);
• patent information services;
• training in various areas of IP;
• services for registration and deposit of copyright and related rights objects;
• methodological recommendations and explanations on the legal protection, enforcement and commercialization of IP rights;
• results of scientific and practical research in the journal «Intellectual Property in Belarus»;
• answers to frequently asked questions from users and much more.

The NCIP strives to provide users with all the necessary resources and aims to create an effective information environment that will contribute to the development and protection of IP in our country.
