World Creativity and Innovation Day
Every year, April 21 marks the World Creativity and Innovation Day, established by the UN General Assembly in 2017. The date of celebration is linked to International Mother Earth Day (April 22) and Leonardo da Vinci's birthday (April 15), which emphasizes the importance of creativity and innovation in preserving our planet, as well as the contribution of the outstanding inventor to scientific developmen.
This holiday is intended to draw attention to the importance of creative thinking and the implementation of innovative solutions in various spheres of activity. The use of advanced technologies based on creative initiatives significantly improves the standard of living of people around the world.
The National Center of Intellectual Property plays a special role in ensuring the protection of creative and innovative activities in Belarus. The NCIP is the key institution in the country responsible for the protection of industrial property rights. It also collectively manages the property rights of more than 6,000 Belarusian authors and right holders.
In 2024, the NCIP completely switched to continuous publication of patent documentation: official bulletins В«Inventions. Utility models. Industrial designs. Topologies of integrated circuitsВ», В«Trademarks and service marks. Geographical IndicationsВ» and В«Plant VarietiesВ» are periodically updated with new full-text descriptions, which can be consulted by anyone.
In addition, the agency actively supports individuals and organizations in exercising their rights in the field of intellectual property, offering a variety of additional services. For example, voluntary registration and deposit of copyright and related rights objects.
