Interesting

The LENS platform is a free search tool designed for business analysts and patent examiners. More than 200,000 scientific papers and 100 million cross-referenced patent documents are available to its users.

There are three main arrays of data in the LENS collections:

  • an array of published scientific articles with tools for searching and analyzing them;
  • patent collection, including national patents and documents of regional organizations;
  • PatSeq software environment for the discovery and analytical processing of information on proteins and nucleotides.

The LENS system provides users with a simple search facility, as well as the ability to construct combined numbering, name and subject queries. For each of the patents found, the bibliographic data with claims or abstract, the full text of the document, information on the patent family, information on correspondence with the patent office and legal status, as well as on patent citations are available for viewing. Similarly, the system searches non-patent literature.

In addition, the platform contains tools for analytical processing of patent collections and visualization of results in the form of graphs, charts and citation maps. Such capabilities make LENS popular for patent analytics in many countries around the world.
