The National Center of Intellectual Property took part in the 5th International Round Table on «Intellectual Property Law: History and Prospects»

On September 15, 2026, the Faculty of Law at Belarusian State University (BSU) hosted the 5th International Scientific and Practical Seminar «Intellectual Property Law: History and Prospects».

The National Center of Intellectual Property (the NCIP) acted as a co-organiser of the event (under the Memorandum of Cooperation between the NCIP and BSU).

During the round-table discussion, experts from the NCIP presented a number of presentations:

«Improving the legal framework governing the protection of intellectual property rights in the context of distance selling» – Diana Ivanova, Head of the Department of Scientific, Educational and Publishing Activities, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor;

«Patent Protection for Software as Part of Technical Solutions» – Aleksandr Mazanik, Head of the Patent Documentation and Editorial Department, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law, Belarusian State University;

«Voluntary registration and deposit of copyright and related right objects at the National Center of Intellectual Property» – Nina Dubovik, Leading Specialist of the Scientific and Education Division of the Department of Scientific, Educational and Publishing Activities.

Olga Nikiforova, Head of the Information and Publishing Division of the Department of Scientific, Educational and Publishing Activities, took part in the discussions.

The participants also discussed issues relating to the codification and systematisation of intellectual property legislation; challenges concerning copyright and related rights in the digital age; the specific features of legal protection for new intangible objects; artificial intelligence and intellectual property law; and other topics.
