For schoolchildren – on the basics of invention and intellectual property rights protection

Representatives of the public association «Belarusian Society of Inventors and Innovators» (BOIR) held a meeting with the 10th and 11th grade engineering profile students and the teaching staff of the Secondary School No. 20 in Brest named after the Hero of the Soviet Union D. M. Karbyshev. The theme of the meeting was «Innovation today means decent life tomorrow.» The Chairman of the Republican Council of the BOIR Public Organization Gennady Kozlov, told the participants at the meeting about the essential knowledge and skills for inventors in the 21st century, presenting the basics of the theory of solving inventive problems to the audience.

Sergey Losev, PhD in Law, Deputy Chairman of the public association «BOIR» Republican Council spoke about the importance of patent protection for technical solutions, citing examples from a number of successful technology companies.

Dmitry Gulyakevich, PhD in Law, member of the public association «BOIR», spoke about the «Intellectual Property Universe» project, inviting the members of the audience to participate in a planned intellectual property competition for schoolchildren.

The topic of the meeting and the reports presented by its participants aroused keen interest among high school students, many of whom plan to pursue a career in engineering.
