The Eurasian Patent Office hosted a webinar on the PCT System: International Preliminary Examination Phase, the second one in a series of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) webinars dedicated to the activities of international bodies of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) system.
The webinar continued to introduce experts and other EAPO officials to the procedures that the Office will need to follow after starting to operate as an International Searching Authority (ISA) and International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA) under the PCT system.
The event held by the Program Officer of the PCT International Cooperation Division, PCT Legal and International Affairs Department, Ms. O. Krysanova, covered the procedural aspects of the ISA/IPEA activities at the international preliminary examination phase.
The participants studied the procedure for filing applications for international preliminary examination and its verification by IPEA, actions carried out by an expert while conducting international preliminary examination, and notification forms sent to applicants at this stage of the PCT procedure.
WIPO webinars enabled experts and other EAPO officials to expand their existing knowledge of the legal and organizational aspects of the PCT system and receive the needed clarifications that will help prepare the Office to serve as ISA/IPEA.
