At a meeting, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved and sent to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the procedures necessary for signing a draft agreement on the creation of a service for searching for information on industrial property protected in the EAEU countries.

The new service will create a common information resource that will consolidate information on trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin protected in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. The main goal is to provide copyright holders, businesses, patent attorneys, and government agencies with convenient and quick access to information using the "one-stop shop" principle.

"This service isn't just a technical solution; it's a direct investment in protecting innovation and fair competition throughout the EAEU. It will significantly reduce the time and financial costs of verifying the uniqueness of a trademark or appellation of origin before registration, it will also increase the transparency and effectiveness of intellectual property rights protection", commented Bakhyt Sultanov, Member of the Board (Minister) for Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The Eurasian Economic Commission will provide the development and technical support of a shared information resource, accessible to all interested users free of charge.
