Authorities considered the issue of codification of legislation in the field of intellectual property

On November 3, 2021, session of the Council on Legal and Judicial Affairs under the President of the Republic of Belarus took place. The session was attended by Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Aliaxandr Shumilin and Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Uladzimir Rabavolau.
In frames of the session the participants considered the issue “On the improvement of national legislation in the field of intellectual property rights and its codification”.
Mr. Shumilin noted: “Following the operational results the State Committee on Science and Technology concluded that the codification is to lead to positive practical results. Its main advantages include the fact that it will provide the possibility to systematize the existing legislation in the field of intellectual property, eliminate duplications in legal regulations and provisions within different legal acts, eliminate the existing gaps in legal regulations and contradictions between regulatory legal acts and bring the terminology of regulatory legal acts to the unity”.
