The International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) invites you to read the World Intellectual Property Report (WIPR) 2024 on В«Innovation Policy as a Tool for DevelopmentВ».
For the purposes of WIPR-2024, a new methodology has been developed to measure changes in the innovation landscape in more than 150 WIPO Member States over a twenty-year period and to determine how different countries have increased the level of diversification of their economies in the areas of science, technology and exports. The conclusions contained herein may be useful in shaping the policies of different states in a highly dynamic economic and political environment.
В«We hope that this report will help in understanding how to harness innovation to improve productivity, competitiveness and pace of development against the backdrop of global economic shifts and accelerating digital transformation.
The report's findings suggest that countries that realize local potential, build diverse innovation ecosystems and develop deep capabilities are more likely to win the innovation race,” WIPO Director General Daren Tang said.
