I International Scientific and Practical Conference «Development through Innovation: Concepts, Models and Implementation Experience»

On April 18, 2024 the I International Scientific and Practical Conference «Development through Innovation: Concepts, Models and Implementation Experience» was held at the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Economics of the Belarusian State University (BSU).

The National Center of Intellectual Property (the NCIP) acted as co-organizer of the event. Dmitry Andrievsky, the Head of the Department for Commercialization Support and State Registers of the NCIP, made a presentation at the plenary session.

The conference addressed global trends and best practices in the field of innovative development, the important role of innovative entrepreneurship in the transformation of the economy. The significant aspect was the discussion of the importance of intellectual property in the system of ensuring innovative development. The conference delegates also developed proposals for the improvement of infrastructure support in innovation activities.

The memorandum of cooperation between the NCIP and BSU was signed on October 20, 2021. Annually, the faculty and students actively participate in the NCIP International Scientific and Practical Conference «Intellectual Property in the Modern World: Challenges of Time and Prospects of Development», as well as publish scientific and practical articles in the journal «Intellectual Property in Belarus».

BSU students also regularly participate in the NCIP competition among young people for the best work in the field of intellectual property.

Since 2020, the Technology and Innovation Support Center has been operating at a higher education institution with support from the NCIP.
