Aleksandr Gulevich was born on 19 May 1954 in Maladzechno (Minsk Oblast). In 1976, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Belarusian State University (BSU), specialising in analytical chemistry. He began his career as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Physical and Organometallic Chemistry of the BSSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1977, he was a junior researcher at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the BSU and a postgraduate student at the same department. In 1978, he was promoted to the position of a junior researcher at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Problems (Laboratory of Extraction and Sarbic Work) at the BSU. In 1982. Mr. Gulevich defended his PhD thesis Anion-exchange extraction of alkyl sulfates and alkyl carboxylates with higher ammonium salts and its analytical determinationВ». Since 1984, he was a senior researcher at the same institute. Since 1991, he was a lecturer at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at BSU, and since 2003, he was a professor at the same department.
Doctoral dissertation В«Anion-exchange extraction of organoanions with higher ammonium salts and its analytical applicationВ» was awarded in 2002 at the BSU in the speciality 02.00.02 - analytical chemistry. In 2003. Aleksandr Gulevich was awarded the title of professor in the speciality В«Analytical ChemistryВ».
Research interests and scientific work:
- research of anion exchange extraction of organic and metal complex anions, as well as the development of film and selective electrodes. Mr. Gulevich has published more than 150 scientific papers on these topics, including 1 monograph, 2 textbooks, and received 18 copyright certificates and patents for inventions. Alexander has trained 5 candidates of chemical Sciences;
- development of medical diagnostic systems for the determination of alpha-amylase, bilirubin, as well as hematological dyes and their production within the framework of the NTVK В«Analysis XВ».
