Pyotr Vandilovsky was born on July 12, 1954 in the village of Malinovka, Belynichi district, Mogilev region. In 1979 he graduated from the Belarusian State Conservatory in the class of bayan t. p. Braginets, then received a specialty of opera and symphonic conductor in the class of People's Artist of Russia, Professor G. P. Provotorov, in 1986 graduated from the assistantship-training under the guidance of Associate Professor Kafanov.

Since 1983 Pyotr Vandilovsky has worked at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, taught the orchestral conducting class, was head of the department for more than 20 years, and since 1999 headed the Academy's Chamber Orchestra. At the same time in different years he worked as conductor of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (1992-1995, 1998-2003), chief conductor of the State Concert Wind Orchestra “Nemiga” (1995-1997), chief conductor of the Minsk Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.

Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1997-1998), chief conductor of the Sarajevo Symphony Orchestra (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1997-1998), chief conductor and artistic director of the State Chamber Orchestra of Belarus (2003-2009), conductor of the string orchestra of the honored collective “National Academic Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus” (2012-2013).

Pyotr Vandilovsky was the first performer of many works by Belarusian composers-D. Smolsky, G. Gorelova, V. Kuznetsov, D. Lybin, A. Litvinovsky, A. Zaletnev, L. Murashko, musical director of the production of the mono-opera “Lonely Bird” by A. Zaletnev (2000), music for some movies.

Among the graduates of Associate Professor P. Vandilovsky at the Belarusian State Academy of Music are highly professional conductors, well-known cultural figures: Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus V. Babarikin, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, conductor of the National Academic Folk Orchestra named after I. Zhinovich A. Kremko, conductor of the Samara Opera and Ballet Theater E. Khokhlov, chief conductor of the Rostov Musical Theater A.4) and others.
