International Day of Women and Girls in Science
11 february 2025
Interesting
Every year on 11 February, the world celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The year 2025 marks 10 years since the first International Day of Women and Girls in Science and 30 years since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, two important milestones in global efforts to advance gender equality and women's empowerment.
This day is an opportunity to promote women's and girls' full and equal access to and participation in science. It also serves as a reminder of the need to remove barriers and stereotypes that may prevent their full participation. In today's context, where scientific research and technological innovation have a major impact on society, supporting women in these fields is critical to achieving sustainable development, creating a more inclusive world.
Today, on this special holiday, we honour all women and girls who contribute to the development of science, as well as those who strive to fulfil themselves in this field. May your desire for knowledge and discovery never fade, and may your energy and creativity lead you to new achievements and bright successes!
Congratulations!
