The Award Ceremony for the Winners of the Youth Competition for the Best Work in the Field of Intellectual Property Takes Place

On January 21, 2026, as part of the summing up of the activities of the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) for 2025, the winners of the youth competition for the best work in the field of intellectual property 2024/2025 academic year were awarded. 79 works from representatives of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan were submitted to the competition.

In the nomination «The best Master's thesis in the field of intellectual property», the winning work is «Smart contracts in the field of intellectual property» by Natalia Borisovets (Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Funk Yan, Doctor of Law, Professor, Chairman of the International Arbitration Court at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In the nomination «The best thesis in the field of intellectual property. Industrial Property Law», the winning work is «Comparative analysis of the procedure for conducting patent research in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus» by Anna Danilchenko (International Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel, Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property). Scientific supervisor: Victoria Kochetkova, expert of the Center for Scientific and Expert Analytics of RGAIS.

In the nomination «The best thesis in the field of intellectual property. Copyright and Related Rights», the winning work is «Copyright for objects created using artificial intelligence» by Denis Kurshuk (Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Oleg Yadrevsky, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of Intellectual Property Law.

In the nomination «The best thesis in the field of intellectual property. Economic aspects of intellectual property» the winning work is «Improvement of scientific, technical and innovative activities of the resident enterprise» by Anna Dido (Faculty of Production Technologies of Vitebsk State Technological University). Scientific supervisor: Inna Karpushenko, Senior lecturer at the Department of Technical Regulation and Commodity Science.

In the nomination «The best term paper in the field of intellectual property»:

  • in the sub–category «Assessment of intellectual Property rights» the winning work «Assessment of the degree of risk and calculation of the discount rate in the assessment of the IPR 2025» by Ivan Terletsky (Faculty of Economics and Management of the Belarusian State University of Economics). Scientific supervisor: Victoria Bezuglaya, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy;
  • in the sub–category «Copyright and related rights» is the work « the winning work is «The use of copyright objects in teaching artificial intelligence» by Ilya Lazarevich (Faculty of Law of Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov). Scientific supervisor: Denis Nikolichev, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure;
  • in the sub–category «The versatility of Intellectual Property» the winning work is «License Agreement in the international circulation of intellectual property rights» by Ilya Dedkov (Faculty of International Relations, Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Polina Sachava, trainee lecturer at the Department of International Law.

         In the nomination «The best article in the field of intellectual property»:

  • in the sub–category «Industrial Property» the winning work is «Moral aspects of brand names, trademarks and service marks» by Alisa Azarenko (Faculty of Law of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs). Scientific supervisor: Ruslan Bereznev, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Civil and Labor Law;
  • in the sub–category «Protection of intellectual property rights» the winning work is «Economic damage from unfair competition on marketplaces: the use of intellectual property tools and prevention measures» by Anastasia Glazova (Law Faculty of Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala). Scientific supervisor: Natalia Gabets, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Law;
  • in the sub–category «Economic aspects of intellectual property» the winning work is «Commercialization of secondary pharmaceutical developments and bioethics: a clash of interests» by Anastasia Efimenko (Faculty of Economics of the Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Maria Minko, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship;
  • in the sub–category «Intellectual property and artificial intelligence» the winning work is «The legal regime of virtual images generated by artificial intelligence» by Darya Budnyak (Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University named after E. Polotskaya). Scientific supervisor: Kristina Savitskaya, Master of Economics, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Civil Law;
  • in the sub–category «The versatility of intellectual Property» the winning work is «On the issue of legal regulation of the right to revoke a work» by Milena Kovalenko (Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Oleg Yadrevsky, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of Intellectual Property Law.

         In the nomination «The best essay in the field of intellectual property»:

  • in the sub–category «Industrial Property Law» the winning work is «Sound trademarks in the system of non-traditional trademarks» by Alexey Dyev (Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University named after E. Polotskaya). Scientific supervisor: Kristina Savitskaya, Master of Economics, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Civil Law;
  • in the sub–category «Copyright and related Rights» the winning work is «Permission of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus to use artificial intelligence when writing term papers and theses: who owns the rights to the text created by AI?» Victoria Berestenko (Faculty of Economics and Business Management of Vitebsk State Technological University). Scientific supervisor: Ekaterina Gruznevich, PhD in Economics, Head of the Department of Economics and Electronic Business;
  • in the sub–category «Economic aspects of Intellectual Property» the winning work is «Administrative procedure for the acquisition of compulsory licenses for industrial property in the Republic of Belarus» by Margarita Matokh (Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University). Scientific supervisor: Elena Svadkovskaya, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Intellectual Property Law;
  • in the sub–category «Versatility of intellectual property» the winning work is «I Amsterdam: How Intellectual Capital turned the City of Freedom into a City of Opportunities» by Timofey Osipenko (Faculty of Management, Institute of Sports and Tourism Management, Belarusian State University of Physical Culture). Scientific supervisor: Alina Shumilova, lecturer at the Faculty of Management.

The competition committee also noted:

in the nomination «The best work by a practicing specialist in the field of intellectual property» is the work «The legal nature of a domain name» by Anastasia Burnasheva, specialist of the Pre–trial Settlement Division of the NCIP;

the essay «Alice on the other side of the screen» by Alisa Azarenko (Faculty of Law of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs). Scientific supervisor: Ruslan Bereznev, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Civil and Labor Law.

Aliaksei Kurman, Director General of the NCIP, presented diplomas to the winners and certificates for completing their studies at the NCIP.

Also, from the partner of the competition, the limited liability company «JURSPEKTR», the winners are granted the right to use the ILEX Special Issue PROF information and legal system (for 12 months).
