The fifth day of the World Intellectual Property Organization Summer School (Summer School) was held on May 31.

Four presentations on the topic В«Other Intellectual RightsВ» were organized during the event:

  • Production Secrets: Problems and Best Practices (Sergey Losev, Ph.D., Associate Professor, International Law Department, Faculty of International Relations, BSU);
  • Industrial design as an intellectual property object: current practice and prospect (Natalia Golochalova, Leading Specialist of the Preliminary Examination Division of the Industrial Property Examination Department of the NCIP);
  • Protection of Plant Varieties in the Republic of Belarus (Tatiana Semashko, Deputy Director for Patent Examination and Testing of Varieties for Distinctiveness, Homogeneity and Stability of the State Institution В«State Inspection for Testing and Protection of Plant VarietiesВ»);
  • Geographical Indications as a Means of Promoting Belarusian Brands within the Year of Quality (Natalia Karpovich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Food Security Department of the State Enterprise В«Institute of System Research in Agroindustrial Complex of the National Academy of Sciences of BelarusВ», and Natalia Sinishova, Leading Specialist of the Examination Division of the Trademarks Department of the NCIP);

In addition to the lecture part, a master class on drafting an application for registration of a geographical indication was held (Natalia Sinishova, Leading Specialist of the Examination Division of the Trademarks Department of the NCIP).
