NCIP experts discussed the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Belarus

The YouTube channel of the public association «Belarusian Association of the Visually Impaired» published a podcast on the topic of the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Belarus, the guests of which were the experts of the National Center of Intellectual Property.

The participants considered the main provisions of the treaty, peculiarities of its implementation in the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and obstacles faced by organizations in its implementation. They also discussed examples of successful fulfillment of the requirements of the document, the level of awareness of the society and right holders about the right to access to works for the blind, visually impaired and other people with limited ability to perceive visual information, as well as the consequences of violation of copyright legislation. In addition, the experts offered recommendations for improving the effectiveness of work in the field of creating works in accessible formats.
