On the way to the finals of the invention contest «The best patent of Belarus»: Gomel Casting and Normals Plant, OJSC

According to the preliminary results of the invention contest «The best patent of Belarus» 15 finalists were determined, one of which was the open joint-stock company Gomel Casting and Normalization Plant. The mentioned organization produces agricultural machinery, more than 100 items of trailed and mounted equipment.

The contest was submitted by the «Method of soybean cultivation and reaper for its harvesting» developed by OJSC «Gomel Casting and Normals Plant», protected by the invention patent of the Republic of Belarus No. 24043.

A peculiarity of soybean is that a significant part of its pods with beans is located near the ground surface. Therefore, its harvesting from the fields with the lowest yield losses requires cutting the stem as close to the root as possible.

Exactly the presented invention provides identical cutting of soybean stalks along the entire length of the cutting unit, including the depressions of the soil surface, due to the improved design of the cutting unit drive, which distinguishes it from previously known solutions. It allows mechanized reduction of soybean losses during its harvesting due to cutting of stems under the root. And this, in turn, qualitatively and with the least labor inputs provides harvesting of crops with low arrangement of beans on plants, reduces losses of harvested legumes, thereby increasing their harvest.

This technical solution according to the patent for invention of the Republic of Belarus № 24043 is applied in the cutterbar for soybean harvesting with working width of 7 or 9 meters, which is mounted on combines produced by
OJSC «Gomselmash».
