On February 27, 2025 in the National Center of Intellectual Property (the NCIP) under the chairmanship of Irina Dorofeeva, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Associate Professor of the Pop Music Department of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, a regular meeting of the Recommendation and Advisory Council (RAC) under the NCIP was held.

The main theme of the meeting was to summarize the results of the NCIP as a collective management organization for 2024.

«The NCIP is actively involved in the sphere of collective management of property rights and supports authors in their creative activity. Protection of copyright objects is important for the social and cultural development of the country», - said Irina Dorofeeva.

Today the NCIP as a collective management organization acts as a link between copyright holders and users of copyright objects.

Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the NCIP, emphasized that in order for composers and poets to continue creating quality music and hits, they need not only public recognition, but also fair remuneration for their work. Irina Dorofeeva emphasized that authors have the right to expect royalties if their works are performed at concerts, as well as heard on the air of radio stations.

It is important to mention that information about the NCIP activities is more accessible to a wider audience, and people are increasingly aware of how the organization can support authors and users.

U.Rabavolau mentioned that in 2024 the NCIP collectively managed property rights of national authors and other right holders on the basis of more than 6,200 agreements.

A special attention was paid to the theatrical sphere. Theater institutions in Belarus also act as users and delight the audience with both premieres and previously acclaimed productions. Within the framework of permanent contractual cooperation, the NCIP contributed to the expansion and enrichment of the repertoire of 44 theatrical and entertainment organizations in Belarus.

According to the results of 2024, the NCIP fulfilled its obligations under 1327 long-term contracts with users.

The priority directions of the NCIP activity for 2025 remain digitalization of the services provided and popularization of its activities.
