International competition «Discovering the World of IP. 2024» begins

The National Center of Intellectual Property, together with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization, with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization and other partners, are holding an international competition «Discovering the World of Intellectual Property. 2024».

Students from institutions of general secondary education, secondary specialized and higher education from Belarus and foreign countries – Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia will be able to take part in the competition.

It is aimed at promoting intellectual property awareness among students, increasing their legal literacy and involving educational institutions in this work.

Also, one of the goals of the competition is to encourage the younger generation to engage in invention and engineering creativity with subsequent patenting of their developments.

To achieve this goal, participants will be asked to create an industrial design as one of the tasks. Participants whose designs are highly evaluated by the competition jury will be assisted in obtaining a design patent.

The competition consists of four stages. Stages 1–3 of the competition involve listening to lecture materials and self-study aimed at consolidating the knowledge acquired during the lectures. Stage 4 of the competition involves the preparation of individual projects by participants on a topic determined by the organizing committee.

The competition is open to individuals between the ages of 13 and 19 by the time the first phase of the competition begins.

The winners will be determined based on the results of each stage of the individual competition, as well as based on the results of the entire competition. Also, based on the results of the participants, the winners in the categories «Best Mentor» and «Best School» will be determined.

The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas and special prizes.
