On September 14, the International Conference В«IP Eurasia / IP China'24В» was held in Beijing.
During the session В«Intellectual Property in Greater Eurasia: Development Prospects,В» Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, made a report.
In his speech, the head of the NCIP highlighted the prospects for creating a new regional system of the legal protection of utility models, and also noted its potential economic effect for the states parties to the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC).
– The Eurasian system of granting legal protection for utility models will also be of interest to applicants from the Asian region. It seems that conducting a substantive examination of a Eurasian application for a utility model will not have a significant negative impact on the national systems of legal protection of utility models of the EAPO member states. The functioning of the Eurasian system of granting legal protection for utility models will be economically successful for the EAPO, and will also have a positive impact on the state budget of its member states. The introduction of the Eurasian system of legal protection of utility models will simplify the process of entering markets in the countries of the region, which will contribute to the promotion of goods and, as a result, increase trade turnover between countries, it will have a positive impact on the economy of the states parties to the EAPC and the region as a whole, said Uladzimir Rabavolau.
