Dear veterans! Dear colleagues, I heartily congratulate you on the great national holiday - Victory Day!
In 2024, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 79th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
Victory Day is one of the most honored holidays on the Belarusian land. For millions of people, it has become an eternal testimony to the valor of the peoples who gave the whole world life and freedom.
Seventy-nine years separate us from that spring, but the memory of the Great Patriotic War lives in every town and village and is passed on from generation to generation. The Great Patriotic War is an indelible trace in the lives of millions of Belarusians. Every year there are fewer and fewer participants of that terrible war, but we will never forget their heroic feat, which is important for the whole world history.
One should not forget that the victory was also ensured by the striking work on the home line, including scientific and technological developments. The selfless labor and intellectual potential of Belarusian Soviet scientists made it possible to meet the needs of the front to defeat the enemy. Among our outstanding compatriots is Pavel Sukhoi, aircraft designer, creator of many fighters, bombers and other airplanes, which were widely spread and recognized in the world; Semyon Kosberg, designer, who stood at the origins of Soviet aviation and rocket technology; Yakov Zeldovich, outstanding physicist, creator of gunpowder for "Katyusha", co-author of nuclear and hydrogen bombs.
On this day, we congratulate veterans, expressing our deep gratitude for the generous gift of our life and independence. Today, working hard for the benefit and prosperity of our country, each of us strives to be a worthy heir to the heroes who did not spare themselves in the fight against the enemy in bloody battles, worked on the home front for the sake of Victory.
On this significant day for every Belarusian, I wish you strong health and well-being, success and long life, courage and perseverance!
Happy Victory Day!
Director General, Mr. Uladzimir Rabavolau
