On the way to the finals of the invention contest «The best patent of Belarus»: OJSC Mogilev Elevator Machine Building Plant

According to the preliminary results of the contest in the field of invention «The best patent of Belarus» 15 finalists were determined, one of which was OJSC «Mogilev Elevator Machine Building Plant». The company specializes in the production of elevators since the distant 1970. Currently, the production program includes about 180 basic models of elevators. In addition, a wide range of spare parts and equipment for modernization of obsolete and physically worn out elevators is produced.

«Mogilevliftmash» OJSC developed «Double-acting Catcher Activation Mechanism», protected by Eurasian invention patent No. 041104, was submitted to the contest.

The technical solution relates to the field of safety of lifting devices, it is aimed at forced stopping at downward or upward movement and holding on the rails of the elevator car, counterweight or counterbalancing load in case the elevator car exceeds the permissible speed of movement or breakage of traction elements.

Elevators, in which this technical solution of the double-acting catcher activation mechanism is applied, have high performance characteristics, the level of safety and comfort during passenger transportation meets the requirements set by users.

Currently, the presented mechanism under the Eurasian patent for invention No. 041104 is used in the manufacture of catches installed in the elevators of «MOGILEVLIFTMASH». The question of supplying sets of these catches for use in elevators of other manufacturers is under consideration.
