On October 31, 2024, Oleg Zhukov, a Belarusian songwriter, composer, screenwriter, and performer, passed away. He had written more than 300 songs for famous Belarusian and Russian performers, such as Y. Antonov, L. Leshchenko, N. Baskov, L. Dolina, Y. Poplavskaya and A. Tikhanovich, A. Solodukha, Alesya, A. Ermolenko, German, I. Dorofeeva, V. Ukhtinsky, O. Plotnikova, В«PesnyaryВ», art group В«BelarusВ», etc.

Oleg Zhukov was born on January 1, 1937 in Dnepropetrovsk. He started writing songs since school years. In 1967 he began working professionally, when songs written together with Y. Antonov appeared.

Among the well-known songs of O. Zhukov: «People meet», «The fire doesn’t go out», «Take a step towards love», «Natasha», «Love leaves without saying goodbye», «Crimson summer», «Let’s meet today», «We are 25 again», etc.

Listeners and viewers are well familiar with the anthems of the music festivals В«Slavic BazaarВ», В«Golden HitВ», and the В«TelevershinaВ» competition, the author of which is also Oleg Zhukov.
