Acceptance of applications for the contest among youth for the best work in the intellectual property sphere has been completed

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) has completed accepting applications for participation in the annual competition among youth for the best work in the intellectual property sphere 2023-2024.

The competition is held in order to attract public attention to intellectual property issues, popularize science in the field of intellectual property among young people, develop scientific capacity of the Republic of Belarus to ensure effective management of intellectual property.

The NCIP annually records an increase in the number of works in all nominations.

This year, 57 works were submitted to the competition from 13 higher educational institutions of Belarus and Russia, as well as from 1 national scientific institution. Geographically, the contestants represent Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno and Mogilev regions.

All works will be evaluated in the following categories: «Best master’s thesis in the intellectual property sphere», «Best thesis in the intellectual property sphere», «Best course work in the intellectual property sphere», «Best article in the intellectual property sphere» and «Best essay in the intellectual property sphere».

The most popular topics covered by students in their works this year were artificial intelligence, protection of rights on the Internet, economic and other aspects of intellectual property.

The awarding ceremony for the competition winners is planned to take place on October 22, 2024, as part of the plenary session of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference «Intellectual Property in the Contemporary World: Current Challenges and Development Prospects».
